Greases are graded according to their thickness by the
National Lubricating Grease Institute ( NLGI Grade) So when we talk about the
NLGI of the grease, we speak of the consistency of the grease.
NLGI 000 ( consistency similar to tomato sauce)
NLGI 00 ( consistency similar to apple sauce)
NLGI 0 ( consistency similar to mustard)
NLGI 1 (consistency similar to smooth peanut butter)
NLGI 2 ( consistency similar to petroleum jelly)
NLGI 3 (consistency similar to vegetable shortening)
NLGI 4 (consistency similar to Frozen Yoghurt)
NLGI 5 (consistency similar to Cheddar Cheese Spread)
NLGI 6 (consistency of a brick of butter when in fridge)
